W464 2009 Message
Isaiah 11:2-3 (New King James Version)
The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him,
The Spirit of wisdom and understanding,
The Spirit of counsel and might,
The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.
His delight is in the fear of the LORD,
And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes,
Nor decide by the hearing of His ears; When I got back home today, I played my guitar and spent some time with God. I had a strong feeling about the Fear of the LORD. True enough, I believe all of us should have this attitude and spirit.
For 2009, I pray that all of us(including me!) will have a greater sense of the fear of the LORD. Fear of LORD is ABOVE every other fear. Fear of the LORD is not paralyzing kind of fear. It is of reverence, of respect.
How to tell if you have the fear of the LORD?
1. Do you think twice when you are about to commit an act of sin?
2. Do you shun away from evil or temptations and feel thankful that you didn't make your God sad?
Kathryn Johanna Kuhlman once said,"Please, Please do not hurt my only Friend, the Holy Spirit"
3. Are you afraid of hurting your Friend Holy Spirit?
4. Do you show respect and reverence towards people who have a spiritual authority over your life?
We shouldn't be living in guilt - Jesus took that away.
We should be living in the fear of the LORD.
Colossians 1:16 (New King James Version)
For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.Did you noticed the meaning of the above verse? Everything, including you, is created through Him and for Him. Our lives should be living in reference to Christ and nothing else. Because Jesus took such a GREAT ownership over His creation, He personally came down and shed His blood for us, to redeem this world!
Who knows better than Christ Himself on how to redeem this world and His own people?
Follow the biblical order:
God and His house first
Family second
Work/Ministry third
In conclusion my friends,
Ecclesiastes 12:12-14 (New King James Version)
And further, my son, be admonished by these. Of making many books there is no end, and much study is wearisome to the flesh.
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter:
Fear God and keep His commandments,
For this is man’s all.
For God will bring every work into judgment,
Including every secret thing,
Whether good or evil. For much study is wearisome - It means the quest for knowledge and power in this world. Instead, strike a balance in everything. Prepare a glorious account to present to Jesus when He comes back. And that, is a preparation for eternity. Life on earth is just but a dot of your entire eternal life.
Matthew 16:26 (New King James Version)
For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? Why worry about power and glory? The bible says we will rule the earth with Christ!
Friends, let's be spirit minded. Know what are your priorities.
MOST importantly, let us work towards this Fear of the LORD.
